A 2–3 hour photography session in Sicily, designed for couples who want real photos — not poses, not postcards, not a stranger yelling "smile". Just you, in the most beautiful light the Mediterranean has to offer.
Within the first 20 minutes of every session, something shifts. The self-consciousness dissolves. You stop performing for a lens and start existing together — in the golden light of a Sicilian afternoon, against a wall that's been standing for 400 years, on a terrace where the sea and sky become indistinguishable. That precise, unguarded moment is called the Effetto Oblio — the Effect of Forgetting. It's the only thing that separates a photograph you'll print from one you'll forget on your phone.
Emma, a 32-year-old graphic designer from London, sent me a WhatsApp voice note I still think about: "We spent £8,000 on our wedding. There are exactly 15 photos of us just looking at each other. Everything else is group shots, venue details, table decorations." She said this nine months after the wedding, scrolling through a folder she hadn't opened in weeks.
Thomas, her husband, added: "We took so many photos in Sicily on our honeymoon. Timer shots. Selfies. And now they feel thin. Like we were there — but we weren't really there."
That's the invisible problem of the modern couple. You document everything. You experience nothing deeply enough to remember it in thirty years. On the wedding day you were actors in a show organized for your beloved guests. And this trip — this specific Sicilian chapter — deserves better than that.
"This is your Sicilian chapter. Not a postcard. Not an Instagram flex. Proof that you were here, and you loved each other exactly like this."
You didn't end up here without trying. Here's what most couples go through — and why none of it delivers what they actually wanted.
The hotel photographer gave you 40 technically correct, emotionally empty images. You felt like strangers holding poses you didn't choose, in front of a backdrop you didn't pick, for a photographer whose name you don't remember.
The timer selfies. You took 200 attempts at Taormina. Three weren't blurry. None of them moved you. And one of you was still adjusting their shirt in every single frame.
You searched "photographer Sicily" and got Italian-only websites, no English communication, vague pricing, and one reply — eleven days later, after you'd already left.
You hired "a good photographer" once and spent two hours feeling awkward, over-directed, and watched. The photos were fine. They just didn't feel like you. They felt like a performance of you.
The photos are in a Google Drive folder you haven't opened since you got home. Which means the memory is in that folder too — slowly turning into something you meant to do something with.
Every couple is different. The process is always the same — and it's designed to be the easiest thing you do in Sicily.
Tell me your dates and where you're staying. A 10-minute conversation is all it takes. No long forms, no agency markup, no waiting. I speak English — this is genuinely easy.
Before your trip, we talk or chat so that I learn how you move, what makes you laugh, which of you hates cameras more. I plan the exact route, timing, and light for your session — nothing is left to chance.
2–3 hours in Sicily. It is your time, I just shoot pure reportage while you walk, talk, and explore. I photograph the real you — not the version that's performing for a lens. You'll almost forget I'm there. That's the whole point.
Your first 10 preview images arrive within 24 hours — while you're still in Sicily, while the emotion is still fresh. The full gallery follows within 48–72 hours, delivered via private link. 45 seconds to download. No complicated platforms.
Based in Gravina di Catania, I cover the entire eastern and southern Sicily, as:
Catania, Etna, Taormina, Siracusa, Messina, Ragusa, Enna, Agrigento.
Each location has its own light, its own character. Hover to discover.
The most romantic terrace in the Mediterranean. Golden light arrives at 5:47pm in May and stays for exactly 38 minutes. We use every second.
Raw. Volcanic. Primal. Black lava fields and wild pines. For couples who want something unlike anything else in Europe.
UNESCO Baroque. White limestone that glows warm in the afternoon. An intimacy that feels like it belongs to a different century.
The old city at dusk. Salt air, ancient walls, water that catches the light like liquid gold. A place that rewards those who linger.
The Norman cathedral, the fishing harbour, the narrow streets. A postcard that somehow never looks like a postcard when you're the subject.
Already staying somewhere specific? Tell me where. I know a spot within 20 minutes of almost anywhere in eastern Sicily that will change how you see your photos.
If you're honeymooning in Sicily, you've just survived the most chaotic, beautiful, overwhelming day of your life. You were performing for 150 people for 14 hours. Now — finally — it's just the two of you. And this is the version of yourselves that deserves to be remembered: relaxed, present, genuinely happy.
And if you're celebrating an anniversary — five years, ten years, twenty-five — you know something that no newly-engaged couple does yet: that love deepens into something quieter and more profound than the beginning. That there's a version of the two of you right now that won't exist in five more years. And that it absolutely deserves to be documented.
"The wedding was an event. The honeymoon — or this anniversary trip — is the first chapter of the rest of your life together. Don't let it exist only on your phone."See the Sessions
Every session includes full English communication, the Effetto Oblio method, and a private online gallery. No hidden extras, no unpleasant surprises.

Every session comes with three bonuses that most photographers charge extra for — or don't offer at all. They're not afterthoughts. They're the difference between a photo session and a complete experience.
A 24-page digital guide to 14 hidden locations in eastern Sicily — with GPS coordinates, golden hour times by month, and styling notes for each. You'll know exactly where to be and when the light turns everything into something extraordinary. Most tourists never find these spots. You will.
A 45–60 second video, edited cinematically from your session photos, delivered in both 16:9 and 9:16 (Instagram / TikTok ready) within 48 hours. Licensed music, colour-graded to match the mood of your session. The reel Emma and Thomas received after their Taormina session reached 1,847 views organically in the first 72 hours. They didn't even use hashtags. *Included in Sicilian Love Story & Anniversary Signature.
A 15-minute video call before your trip, plus a personalised PDF with outfit suggestions calibrated to your specific location, season, and colour palette. Includes direct links to pieces at ASOS, Zara, and & Other Stories — all pre-filtered by budget (€30–€200 per item). No more standing in front of your suitcase at 11pm wondering what you packed wrong.
Within 24 hours of our session, I'll send you 10 preview images. If fewer than three of them make you want to print them immediately — if they don't move you — I'll shoot a second session at no charge. No questions asked. No difficult conversations. No awkward emails.
I've offered this guarantee for four years. I've never had to honour it. Not because I'm lucky — because the Effetto Oblio method produces results that consistently exceed what clients imagined was possible before they arrived.
But the guarantee exists because your trust matters more than my confidence. And you deserve to book knowing that if something goes wrong — I fix it.
These aren't curated highlights. They're the messages I still re-read.
"We almost didn't book. We genuinely thought it was a luxury we couldn't justify after the wedding costs. Three months later, the photo from our Taormina session is the first thing you see when you walk into our flat. Our friends ask about it every single time they visit. It cost less than our rehearsal dinner."
"We came back to Sicily specifically for our 10-year anniversary and hired Alessio on the recommendation of the concierge at San Domenico Palace. The session took three hours. The photos made me cry when I opened the gallery — which is honestly the only thing worth saying. We've already planned to come back for our 15th."
"We were both terrible in front of cameras. Stiff, awkward, always performing. Alessio spent the first 20 minutes just walking and talking with us. By the time we realised he was actually shooting, we already had forty photos we love. The Style Companion he sent before the trip saved us from a very bad outfit choice."
You will — for about 15 minutes. That's completely normal, and it's actually what I photograph most carefully. The moment the awkwardness dissolves and you remember you're just two people who love each other — that's the shot. The entire Effetto Oblio method is designed to get you to that moment as fast as possible, and then stay there. Indeed, before we meet on location, I invite you to follow each other on social so that you can know me better, see my stories and feel more secure, instead of meeting nearly a stranger for the session.
Yes, English happily speaker with an italian accent that you could find cute. Every communication, from the first WhatsApp to the final gallery link, happens in English. I also can talk French and Spanish. I've worked with couples from the UK, USA, Australia, Germany, France, Canada and New Zealand. I've never had a language barrier be anything other than a non-issue.
No one is "photogenic". That's a myth invented by bad photographers who need their subjects to compensate for their own lack of skill. My job is to make you look exactly like yourself on the best version of a Sicilian afternoon. Every couple I've photographed has said a version of the same thing: "I didn't know I looked like that." Which is what you deserve to hear.
For honeymoon couples: 2–8 weeks before your trip is ideal. For anniversary sessions: 1–3 months ahead is recommended, especially for May–October when availability fills quickly. If you're arriving in less than two weeks, send me a WhatsApp right now — I may still have a slot. I keep a short waitlist and dates do open up.
I monitor forecasts obsessively from the moment you book. If the weather genuinely doesn't work for photography, we reschedule to another day during your trip at no charge. Overcast days can actually produce beautifully soft, even light — I'll advise you honestly on whether to shoot or reschedule. If you've already left Sicily and we couldn't find a suitable day, I'll offer either a partial refund or a future session credit. We discuss this openly — no surprises.
Yes. From my base in Gravina di Catania I reach Taormina in 40 minutes, Noto in 90 minutes, Cefalù in 2 hours, and Agrigento in 2 hours. Travel outside 60km is billed at a flat rate (included transparently in your quote). If you're in Palermo, Trapani, Eolian Island, or anywhere else in Sicily — just ask.
Yes — and it's one of my favourite things to create. The Anniversary Signature session can be expanded to include a private symbolic ceremony (vow renewal), a curated fine art album, and a custom 3-minute Cinematic Love Film. I also offer the option of a handwritten ceremony script, personalised to your story. For milestone anniversaries, please mention this in your first message — it opens a different kind of conversation.
Your session lasts 2–3 hours. The photos last 50 years. The first step takes 90 seconds.
Send me a WhatsApp with your travel dates and where you're staying — I'll reply with availability and a personalised quote, usually within 2 hours. No pressure. No agency. Just a direct conversation with the photographer who will actually show up on the day.
✦ May–October books 6–8 weeks in advance ✦
